Update! The Internet Archive now has many more posts available.
Some deleted posts by Tony Snow on FreeRepublic, from the Google cache. Snow was registered on FreeRepublic since 1998, and posted frequently even after his appointment, but some higher-up apparently decided it wouldn’t be wise to keep his old posts around.
Generally, there is nothing amazing about these posts, but I figure they should be kept just for archival purposes. By the way, apparently Snow was not too popular at FreeRepublic back in 2000.
Turley’s wife had a baby yesterday. He wisely has turned off his cellphone for a few days. I’ll have some stuff to say about the controversy in the next hour, though. I talked with the White House about it yesterday. As for the ex-CIA nuts, I’m going after the Larry Johnson Brigades tomorrow.

“Of all the people to talk about why we should not be worried, it should not be you.”
Sky,
Your complaint would make sense if I had been responsible for the Souter pick. For the record, I was an open skeptic of Souter, and an extremely aggressive advocate for Clarence Thomas. Like you, I want no more Souters — and, like you (or so I gather), I don’t think Harriet Miers is the best possible nominee.

muawiya:I have “a bias in favor of people who’ve never had productive jobs in the private sector?!” Where on earth did you get that?! As for the “fascist” quip, it came in a much longer monologue about the politics of personal destruction. Here’s an invitation to listen to the show. You might get a fuller perspective on the issue. You certainly would get a less wacko view of the host.

Add me to the prayer list. You’re right about Christ, and as I can attest, prayers are great meds. Let’s talk again soon.

Those of you not doing errands today, stay where you are. We’ve got an incredible show. I’ve just gotten a pledge from the attorney general. He’s coming on to talk about spying, the Patriot Act, etc. — and I’m as on fire as I’ve ever been about the bad behavior of the You Know Whos over the weekend…..

Sorry, guys: I’ve been out of pocket. Kate is no relation.

Agreed. The people who did it are idiots — and I’d love to see some immigrants come out and let them have it.
We’re testing out audio because Cynthia McKinney is citing the late Tupak Shakur. We’ll have fun at both their expenses a little later…

Say what?! Does this mean you’re a shill for bigots? Of course not. I’m trying to make arguments and do research. If you have some info that I could use, please help out.

Travis,
I know you can post pictures and sling some cyber-mud. How about giving me an argument I can respond to? BTW: You have your hair on fire about CFR. I’m a conservative member, not a dark conspirator. Perhaps you’d like to find a graphic rendition of the long, heated arguments I had during the Soviet days, or during the runup to Iraq, or … aw, to hell with it. Why am I trying to reason with you?

Thanks. I’m putting on reporters from all over the country today about the protests. I’ll put in a call to KCMO to see if we can get one of their correspondents.

Welcome, all.
Today’s assignment: To dispel GOP malaise — and pick a few good fights about the stuff we like. I’ll also have some sport with the culture of corruption among Dems.

Ozone,I used to think that, too. I first got it from Lewis. He got it from Chesterton.

Freepers,Back off Salena. She’s a terrific journalist, and honest. She’s correct about her bona fides, and even more honest in assessing the Swann campaign. Don’t call her names because she’s passing on a truth you don’t like. Figure out how to make things better.

Bill,I have never, repeat never, said “obviously you know nothing.” If you can avoid personal attack and provide facts, I am, as I have said, all ears. I’m eager to learn, and not so arrogant as to assume I possess the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth…

Tony didn’t leak the story — and hasn’t commented on the record.

I haven’t mused publicly about anything — and haven’t talked. Somebody is doing the leaking; I don’t know whom. I agree about Scott. He has been left twisting in the wind — and that is not good. Nor is it fair to him.

[...] SO how long do you think Tony Snow’s going to survive? As a commentator, he wasn’t always the kindest critic to Bush. Is Bush now cottoning to the idea of not being surrounded by so many yes-men? Or is he just temporarily startstruck? [...]
Nothing to see here, move along, move along. Snow is clearly a poster in Freeperville who tends to play it safe, not say too much, and just generally drag his name thru a partisan website for the sake of exposure to true believers. Not a few liberal semi-celebs use Democratic Underground the same way (John Edwards’s wife, one of Kerry’s daughters, and Tipper Gore at least once). It’s not a bad strategy, if your objective is to be known as a true believer without getting any mud on your shoes. Snow’s safe posts aren’t going to tell us anything about him except that he’s a lot more civilized than the typical basement-dwelling Cheetos junkies who frequent Freeperville.
I think there is more insight in those posts than is readily apparent.
That comment in the first one about “the ex-CIA nuts, I’m going after the Larry Johnson Brigades” is quite revealing. To Snow, former CIA officers that dare criticize the Bush Administration are “nuts” and in cahoots with Larry Johnson like he is running ananti-Bush “organization”.
It will be helpful for the CIA to know exactly where Bush’s new Press Secretary stands with his opinion of them.
Another post that struck me is the one that is barely two weeks old (April 12, 2006) refering to a *Dem* “culture of corruption”. I wonder what color the sky is in Tony’s world?
Thank you for collecting them! – Mugsy.
How long can Snow job survive?

I LOVE YOU!!!!
I believe it is incredibly dangerous when we dink around with history. What has been said, has been said.
Blessings to us all,
Shirley
I still cannot believe a Fox News host is the White House press secretary – not that it’s surprising… But still… This really sucks.
We long-time subscribers to The Nation thank you for this enlightening repast.
Gatorifically,

No problem. Stay tuned to my blog for more interesting randomness, some of it possibly politics-oriented.
Tony Snow sounds like a nice guy.I wish him well in his new job.
Go Tony, Go Tony…
